Field guide 01

A saved session needs an owner.

MobaXterm’s official documentation describes saved sessions and a sessions manager. A team library becomes useful when names and settings connect to a maintained operating record.

Naming that survives handoffs

Prefer a predictable pattern based on environment, workload, purpose, and region. Avoid embedding usernames, passwords, ticket numbers that expire quickly, or ambiguous labels such as “new server.”

Shared sessions need a governance note

Official MobaXterm documentation describes shared session locations. Before adopting one, decide who can publish, who can consume, how changes are reviewed, what transport is acceptable, and how an operator recognizes a retired entry.

Keep credentials out of the register

Document the approved authentication method and owner. Never paste private keys, passwords, or recovery data into an inventory or working note.

Next: map jump-host and tunnel dependencies or prepare a team rollout note.
